KIDS OF THE KINGDOM (KOK)
Kids of the Kingdom is our theatrical, musical outreach program inviting children, from Kindergarten through 6th grade, to use their God-given talents to glorify Him and minister to others through musical productions. Through this loving, positive, high-energy environment, children explore the arts while learning God’s word. KOK performs two musicals each year, one in December with a Christmas theme and a spring production with a non-seasonal, Christian theme. Each musical provides kids the opportunity to memorize Bible verses associated with the songs they learn. In addition, children are encouraged to audition for speaking parts, dancing roles, and solos all the while impressing upon them the valuable lesson of doing these things for God’s glory and not their own. Typical performance weekends are the first weekend of December for our Christmas show, and the first weekend in May for our spring show.

As one of our most established outreach programs, KOK welcomes kids throughout the community and has created appeal beyond Lakehills Church (up to 40% of the cast are from other local churches or from non-church going homes).

There is a Registration Fee to assist with expenses such as songbooks and CDs for each cast member, costumes, weekly Bible verse incentives, and other production costs. No refunds are given once auditions have taken place.

SONBEAM SINGERS
Sonbeam Singers gives our 3-4 year old preschool children the opportunity to also get involved in our musical outreach program. As they are introduced to the idea of a musical group, the Sonbeam Singers learn simple songs with hand choreography and are the “opening act” for the KOK main productions. These singers participate in both the winter and spring shows.

HOW TO CONNECT
A key team of volunteers is vital to the Kids of the Kingdom and Sonbeam Singers ministry. Team members range from choreographer to vocal director to administrative assistant. In addition, we rely on parent volunteers to handle numerous aspects of the show including check-in on Sunday nights, costume and wardrobe, and working backstage to name a few.

For more information about KOK or the Sonbeam Singers, please email Carolyn McKenzie or complete an online Connections Card.
